R M Donaldson (RMD) has grown naturally in recent years without any form of direct self-promotion or marketing. They have an enviable client list that is a testament to the quality of their products, their know how and great customer service.
RMD approached us to help them create a new website that would better reflect the values of the company, their products, services, and people. Their existing website contained little information and wasn't fully utilised by their team as a communication tool. It had limited value and low traffic.
By undergoing an one-to-one brand and web workshop with their Managing Director we garnered a much greater understanding of the sector, the process of designing, maintaining and supporting data centres, as well as the the vision and future goals for the business. Our findings helped us to clearly define the structure, functionality and tone of voice required.
We set out to create a look and feel that challenged any pre-conceived notions around technically demanding subjects by designing a fresh, bold and informal website with simple, succinct and easy to follow information. The site also puts the people of RMD into the centre of the picture. They know their customers and have direct contact with them day or night, which is a vital ingredient in their success.
By moving away from the expected corporate text-heavy approach we have successfully managed to position the RMD brand away from their competitors and give them a unique space that reflects the personality of the business. It has also provided them with a sales and communication tool they can easily adapt and change. The site is fully content-managed with RMD news items, case studies, and industry. Google Analytics has indicated a significant rise in site traffic and reduced bounce rates.
