The Scotch Whisky Association (SWA) needed an informative and engaging website that would appeal to the public, the press, and the whisky industry. By using the best of online media and digital technology to deliver its message, the SWA also hoped to appeal to a fresh, young audience.
We devised a site which involved interactive content, information rich copy, and contemporary design. The SWA website is a vibrant space for whisky lovers and new consumers alike.
We produced and scripted a video outlining the production of Scotch whisky, created a virtual tour of a distillery and made an interactive whisky map of Scotland, all providing exciting new ways to learn about whisky production.
These features, together with appealing whisky recipes specially commissioned photographs and an online resource centre, help to demonstrate that Scotch whisky and the Scotch Whisky Association have a broad appeal and that there's more to enjoying Whisky than haggis and kilts.
The innovative interactive elements combined with whisky recipes, elegant design, contemporary photography and information-rich copy promotes responsible drinking attitudes and updates the press and public on all aspects of the Scotch whisky industry.
The site has attracted visitors from across the world, from the USA to India, Sweden to Japan, with an average of more than 10,000 new visitors a month.
